Stud Service Sample Contract

Bitch Owner provides a three (or more) generation pedigree and/or  copies or pdfs of Titles.

The Bitch Owner will pay the Stud Owner a total fee of $1,500.00 in cash at the time of the breeding. Progesterone tests at Bitch Owner's veterinarian assure the timing most precisely. There are NO REFUNDS. f stud is unable to perform it will be deemed too late or too early in cycle and Bitch Owner will return with Bitch at a more appropriate time.
The Stud Owner may choose 'pick of the litter,' and return the full price of this stud agreement ($1500) to Bitch Owner when collecting reserved puppy. In cases where Stud Owner has expressed interest in applying pick of the litter, Bitch Owner must communicate birth announcement and weekly progress and  photos to aid in decision making regarding which puppy, if any, will be appropriate for 'pick of the litter.'  Bitch Owner will complete any/all registration agency(s) (AKC, UKC, etc.) applications such that they shall be applied for in advance, and signed by Bitch Owner, and available to leave with 'pick of the litter' puppy.
The Bitch Owner will deliver or send the bitch to the Stud Owner and remain nearby during the stud process each time, for two matings spaced one day apart. Depending on space availability the Bitch Owner may arrange to leave Bitch for no more than two nights with all food and medications provided by Bitch Owner, for $75 per day boarding fee.
A successful litter is defined as birth of one or more live pups. If a successful litter does not occur, the bitch may be bred during her next season, provided that the Stud Owner is notified within 30 days of the failure to whelp. If the second attempt also fails Bitch Owner may return for one more breeding at a cost of one half the initial price, with Progesterone testing required by Bitch Owner's vet – minimum series of two minimum, to assure best possible outcome.
The Stud Owner certifies the chosen stud is an experienced and successful stud. Stud Owner will allow Bitch Owner to register litter by giving permission directly to registration agency (AKC< UKC...) as part of the litter registration process initiated by Bitch Owner. Stud Owner determines either Artificial Insemination or natural breeding. 

The Bitch Owner verifies that their dog does not suffer from any contagious conditions (including but not limited to parasites, rabies, DHL or Parvovirus). For Poodles the Bitch Owner will verify completion of testing for genetic diseases based on the Poodle Club of America DNA panel recommendations. Bitch Owner must provide proof of a negative Brucellosis test not more than 4 weeks old, and proof that the Bitch is up to date on rabies vaccine along with a letter or email from their veterinarian certifying the Bitch is healthy for breeding and pregnancy.
